Mhondoro Game Lodge

Mhondoro Game Lodge is situated in the malaria free Welgevonden Game Reserve, which consists of 42 000 hectares of unspoiled African bushveld ranging from rocky outcrops to wide open savanna, where herds of Zebra, Wildebeest and Impala abound. The reserve has three rivers that meander quietly through wooded areas before joining the Limpopo River. Welgevonden is one of the largest private investments in conservation in the world, supporting many species of animals, including the big five.

The main lodge has a large viewing sundeck where guests are welcome to bide away the time, but the hottest hours can be spent lazing around the invitingly cool swimming pool. The central dining room, bar, outdoor boma, where you can join in with a bit of Shangaan dancing and singing, as well as a gym are all situated in or around the main lodge and are easily accessible from the chalets.

Four luxuriously appointed private chalets nestle along the ridge overlooking the waterhole and adjacent plains, with the Waterberg mountains in the distance. With a maximum of 10 guests only, Mhondoro Game Lodge offers personal attention combined with privacy, which is an additional luxury, and an outdoor shower can be very tempting.

Four course meals, decadent teas, bush breakfasts in the wilds, picnics and braais – there are so many ways to enjoy your varied and tasty meals, weight watchers may be your best friend on your return home.

Game viewing at the Mhondoro Game Lodge is done in open vehicles equipped with elevated seating and adequate protection from an African thunderstorm.
